About the Author
Jim Maguire is the son of Captain John "Jack" Maguire. He grew up in Havertown, Pennsylvania, where some of his best summer days were spent riding along with his father on work calls, talking about World War II. He was a history buff even then, though the stories he heard were the ones a father would share with a ten-year-old.
Jim spent his career as a Chief Information Officer and still runs his consulting business, Fin Strategies. Those years of organizing and validating data turned out to be good preparation for the project his father had started many times but could never finish. Over several years Jim rebuilt Jack's service history from an old suitcase of documents, an officer serial number, typewritten notes recovered from the attic, and a shelf of books on the 15th Air Force, the 301st Bomb Group, and the 352nd Squadron. Along the way he tracked down crewmates, cross-referenced German and Romanian records, and worked around the 1973 fire that destroyed his father's official file.
Jim lives in Broomall, Pennsylvania, with his wife, Janet. He loves taking out his boat to catch crabs and spending long evenings at the Jersey Shore with their four grown children and grandaughter. This is his first book.
